>> new work with Somali refugee camps around Daadab

July 2009

After a long, bumpy, six hour journey from Nairobi, the first group of facilitators alighted at the Hagadera Refugee Camps. This marked the start for important new work for AVP within Somali communities.

Over 2009, the Quaker-based American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) funded workshops in these long-term camps, in an often forgotten corner of North Eastern Kenya.

These workshops were well recieved, particularly as they are experiential - unlike many other activities run in the camps.  Funding has been obtained to continue the work during 2010.
